Pricing – Debt Recovery Work
There are various types of debt recovery matters that we can help you with such as:
● Sending a letter before action
● Issuing Court Proceedings
● Serving a Statutory Demand
● Presenting a Winding up Petition (against a company/corporation)
● Presenting a Petition for Bankruptcy (against an individual)
We bill based on the number of hours that we spend on your case. Our hourly charges are as follows:

We set out below the average fees we charge for helping you with your debt case from the start to conclusion together with details of the work that is involved.
Sending letter before action

Our work will usually include the following:
● Taking instructions from you, advising you and reviewing the documents
● Preparation of letter before action
● Sending response to you and advising you / updating you if no response is received
● Dealing with payment by the debtor (if one is made)
To recover a debt, a letter before action is sent to the debtor giving them up to 30 days to make payment. If payment is not made in the specified time, the next step will be to issue court proceedings.

In addition to our fees, there will be disbursements to pay. We will provide you with full details at the outset. Disbursements are fees paid to third parties on your behalf, these are not our charges.
Our work will usually include the following:
● Taking instructions, advising you and reviewing the supporting documents
● Preparing the claim form and particulars of claim
● Issuing the claim at court and updating you
● Dealing with response from the defendant (if any)
● If no response received, applying for judgment in default
● Dealing with payment
If the claim is not disputed, court proceedings could take up to 4 months depending on the timetable of the court. If the claim is disputed by the defendant, then court proceedings could take up to 12 months (or longer for more complex cases) in which case additional fees will be payable.

Our work will usually include the following:
● Taking your instructions and reviewing documents
● Preparing the Statutory Demand
● Instructing a Process Server to personally serve the Statutory Demand on the debtor
● Dealing with payment (if received)
● Dealing with any response and updating you
A Statutory Demand is a notice to a debtor to pay an outstanding debt otherwise, a bankruptcy petition or winding up petition will be filed. If the sums claimed in the Statutory Demand are not paid by the debtor within 21 days, the next steps will be to file a petition in court.
Winding Up Petition/Petition for Bankruptcy

Our work will usually include the following:
● Taking your instructions and reviewing documents
● Carrying out relevant searches
● Preparation of Petition and supporting Witness Statement
● Issuing the Petition at court
● Arranging personal service of the Petition
● Filing certificate of service in court
● Advertising petition in the London Gazette
● Instructing a barrister to attend the court hearing to represent you
● Preparing and filing a certificate of compliance for a winding up petition or a certificate of
continuing debt for a bankruptcy
● Dealing with any payment received
Once the petition has been presented to court, the matter will usually be dealt with within 3 months.
